CASE 1: SECURITY AND MANAGING THE WORKPLACE
Construction sites lose millions in lost assets and poor working practices. Tools are stolen, lost, misplaced or vandalized and accurate monitoring of working practices has been virtually impossible - until now. Skillion has in development a unique product that when installed within power tools at the construction worksite tracks their location and usage. For security a defined geo-fenced boundary is created, then if the tool goes outside this limit the manager is immediately alerted. Similarly if the tool is misused. The system can track who, where, when and how the tool is being used - in real-time! Managers can instantly view and manage every tool from their smartphone, as well as run reports. This real-time capability reduces theft, misuse, and accidents. We believe it will be a key part of the future safety, liability prevention and regulatory compliances - setting new standards in workplace management. The Skillion system incorporates a miniature IoT device installed into each power tool and connected to our back-end system so that each construction site acts like a miniature fleet of mobile assets.
CASE 2: REDUCING DOWN-TIME, ADDING SECURITY
Last-mile delivery is the most expensive and time consuming part the delivery process. The major delivery companies are now beginning to see the advantages of using e-mobility. E-bikes and E-scooters are being trialled and one of our customers is having problems with the batteries on their ebike fleet in NYC. Riders unexpectedly run out of charge, batteries have shortened lifetimes and they have little or no data on what is happening to the battery, ebike or the packages they are delivering. With Skillion technology on each battery in the fleet as well as in multiple hot-swap batteries located across NYC this problem can be solved. Each battery is tracked and managed by the Skillion system, alerting the rider of a low battery and directing them to the nearest fully charged battery. All details of the battery are tracked to better determine how to extend battery life. The battery, bike asset and packages are tracked resulting in more deliveries per shift and in millions in savings.
CASE 3: SECURING BIKES FOR CORPORATE FLEET
Our customer needed a Smart eco-friendly transport solution for their Smart eco-apartment block. They needed fingertip monitoring and access control to an ebike fleet available to their new owners. With 1.5M bicycles stolen every year in the USA, and growing, security was paramount. Skillion supplied the technology where riders can access their ebike remotely; set an alarm, monitor battery level, track location set off a siren, cut motor power and uniquely access the on-board camera to monitor when the bike is disturbed.
